Pattern Description:

Having worked with early childhood age children for many years, I've seen how young children enjoy a "grab 'n' go" friend. Mongo Monkey is just waiting to be taken along for some fun! Caution: Don't over stuff Mongo's head and body. Over stuffing will cause the added on face, arms and legs to appear too small for the body.

Gauge:

Not critical for this project. Work tightly enough to ensure that the stuffing will not show through the stitches.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

approx. 10 1/2" sitting

Materials:

worsted wt. yarn: main color (300 yds.), contrast color (69 yds.)
Knitting needles: size 6 (4.25mm)

You Will Also Need:

9mm black toy safety eyes (or embroidery thread for eyes)
easily removable safety pins or stitch markers that "lock"
large-eyed blunt needle
polyester fiberfill stuffing
black yarn for nostrils: small amount
long straight pins
