Basic Skills Necessary:

  • K (knit), P (purl), M1 (make 1 increase), Kfb (knit into the front & back increase), K2tog (knit two together decrease), YO (yarn over), Cast-on, Bind-off

Pattern Description:

Pretty Crystal Teddy is knit in-the-round, using approx. 285 total yds. of #4-worsted wt. yarn. Freely standing at 9 1/2"-10" tall, her body, legs and hind feet are knit in all one piece. Crystal's dress is removable for fun dress-up time.

Gauge:

Gauge for the bear is not critical for this project. Work tightly enough to ensure that the stuffing will not show through the stitches. Gauge for the dress on size 6 (4mm) needles is approx. 5 sts and 7 rows per inch. Though it is not critical, the clothing should fit the bear with enough ease to make removal and dress-up easy.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approx. 9 1/2" - 10" tall, standing The resulting size will be determined by the type of yarn, size needles, and your personal tension.

Materials:

  • #4-worsted wt. (Aran/10-Ply) yarn: Approx. 200 yds. for bear... (I used Bernat Tiny Tickles-White Clouds) Approx. 85 yds. for dress... (I used Red Heart Soft Baby Steps-Aqua) (For bear) Size 4 (3.5mm) 32" Circular Knitting Needles (if using Magic Loop) or Double Pointed Needles (For clothing) Size 6 (4mm) 32" Circular Knitting Needles or Double Pointed Needles

You Will Also Need:

  • Safety Eyes: 10.5mm Narrow Ribbon Black yarn or embroidery thread for nose Large-Eyed Blunt Needle & Long Straight Pins Removable Stitch Markers and Ring Markers Polyester Fiberfill Stuffing

Suggested yarn:

285 yards of Worsted weight
