Basic Skills Necessary:
- K = knit Ktog= knit two together P = purl Ptog = Purl 2 stitches together st st = stockinette stitch Kfb= knit into front loop, then knit into back loop- increase of one stitch Kfbfb= knit into front loop, then knit into back loop, knit front loop and knit back loop-4 stitch increase Ssk- slip one stitch knit wise, knit next stitch, slip first slipped stitch over knit stitch. One decrease w&t = Wrap and turn. Bring yarn to front of work between needles, slip next st to righthand needle, bring yarn around this st to back of work, slip st back to left-hand needle, turn work to begin working back in the other direction. 3 3 needle bind off = Place half the sts onto each of 2 needles, hold right sides together. * Insert 3rd needle knitwise into the first stitch of each needle and knit them together, work into the next st on each needle in same way, slip first st over st just knitted; repeat from * to end. M1 (make 1)= lift the horizontal yarn lying between the needles and place it onto the lefthand needle. Work this new stitch through the back loop. C/o=Knit two stitches on the right hand needle- with left needle pull first stich back and over the second stitch leaving one stitch- repeat till you have one stitch left, pull yarn through and weave in the ends. i-cord= cast on 3 stitches on double pointed needles- knit one row, do not turn work, slide stitches to other end of needle-Knit a second row by bringing the yarn behind the work and starting with the first stitch. Pull work from the bottom to help cord to even out tension. Repeat until desired length. Picot bind off- knit two stitches, cast off one, move remaining stitch back to left needle, cable cast on two stitches, bind off 4- repeat until end of row. Cable cast on- insert right needle between first two stitches on left side, wrap yarn and bring new loop through front and place on left needle Crochet cast on- there are many methods to use, a simple one is with crochet hook and waste yarn crochet a chain, insert knitting needle through back loop and begin knitting with working yarn. When ready to put live stitches back on needle pull waste yarn and put live stitches on knitting needle.
Ameline is created and named after my sweet girl. She is the reason I decided to make a more child friendly doll... "Ameline" is kid friendly and can be played with rough and still have cool hair. She is the first of my Raggedy Lottie series
gage depends on the needles size you use and the yarn. if you use smaller needles and yarn your doll will be smaller
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- -Worst weight acrylic yarn, one colour for skin, and as many colours as you chose for dress, legs, eyes nose and mouth. (or yarn of choice, remember to change needle size to fit yarn-- this will also change the size of your doll) 2 - Bernat Soft Boucl- colour of your choice for hair (you can use any yarn for hair but is recommended it be a textured yarn)- 5 double pointed needles (size US 7 -4.5mm to obtain 21inch doll) (these sizes are suggestions to obtain 21inch doll) - round needle (size US 7-4.5mm or a size close to it-- if you don't have round needle you can use scrap yarn) -OPTIONAL- - tapestry needle to sew parts together - stuffing of your choice (I use polyester Stuffing) -5 stitch markers, one for beginning of round, 4 for marking arms/sleeves - small button for back of dress - stitch holder or waste yarn -crochet hook similar in size to your needles
