The first time we meet Professor McGonagall, she is a cat waiting all night to see Professor Dumbledore while the rest of the world celebrates. Some, probably Dedalus Diggle, celebrate by shooting wand sparks in the air, although the Muggles interpreted them as shooting stars. Although it was reported in Kent, chances are good that McGonagall was able to view a few as well.
Yarn: I used 100% Cotton, but I would really recommend using something that will block easier. Here are the yarns I used:
5 skeins (820 yds) of Green Tea Heather
1 skein (164 yds) of Basalt Heather
The entire pattern, including the intarsia, is both written and charted. The All Written Out PDF contains only the written out instructions for each chart. The Knit and Purls PDF contains the conversion of intarsia to knit and purl.
19 stitches x 26 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette
1000 yards of Worsted weight
I am knitter, Classicist, Whovian, and Harry Potter nerd. My knitting obsessions right now include cables (especially reversible ones), slipped stitches, garter stitch, beading, and hats. Lots of hats.
I try to include both charts and written directions in all of my patterns.
