Pattern Description:

Its an Olympic year so it seemed natural to add the Olympic Rings to my "Fly the Flag" pillow cover range.

This 12" x 16" (30x40cm) cushion cover is knit using a medium/#4/aran/worsted yarn.The envelope closure is secured with three buttons allowing for easy removal to change your decor or for hand washing of the cover.

The rings are knit separately using i-cords, then linked before being sewn in place.


4"x4" (10 x 10 cm) on 5mm/UK6/ US 8 = 15 stitches and 24 rows

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 12"x16" (30x 40cm)


  • One pair 4mm/UK 8/ US 6 straight needles
  • One pair 5mm/UK6/ US 8 straight needles
  • Two double pointed 4mm/UK 8/ US 6 needles for i-cords

You Will Also Need:

  • Large-eyed blunt sewing needle
  • 3 buttons approximately 1"/25mm

Suggested yarn:

225 yards of Worsted weight
