Pattern Description:

Knit a cute and unusual tea cosy to keep - or for a gift that's unique.
This pattern is designed so that you can make your koala sit in a variety of ways, to look like a real koala.
Simple to make in doubled 8 ply yarn of your choice.

Instructions for making an i-cord are included as an option for making the gum leaves' stem.

Gauge:

15 sts, 21 rows to 10 cm in stocking stitch on 5.5 mm (US 9) needles, using doubled 8 ply/DK yarn

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • all around at widest part48 height to top of head, approx24

Materials:

  • about 135 gms of 8 ply yarn (used double), plus 10 gms of a fluffy or furry yarn for the ears.
  • black, pale pink, blue/green, and brown DK/8 ply in small amounts

You Will Also Need:

  • 1 pair 5.5 (US 9) mm needles
  • 2 x 4 mm (US 6) double pointed needles
  • dacron toy filling
  • a pair of 12 - 15 mm brown or black toy safety eyes , or sew-on "joggle" eyes
