For this pattern I used a long-tail cast on with a doubled tail (doubled yarn/strand). I also cast on using two needles together to ensure that my stitches are not too tight. I then split my stitches symmetrically, back-and-forth, over 2 dpns; see photos.
You can view a video of the doubled tail, long-tail cast on here: http://youtu.be/1itkz_TOyo4
Also feel free to use Judy's Magic Cast On (c) 2006 Judy Becker: http://knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/FEATmagiccaston.html
Increases: The left and right lifted increases can be swapped for any type of increase you prefer, simply note that out of 1 stitch you will need to make stitches consistently, both left and right.
Binding Off uses a variation of a standard 3-needle bind off.
Approx. 22 sts and 36 rows = 4 inches (10.2 cm) in stockinette
13 yards of Worsted weight

Born and raised in the greater Delaware valley around Philadelphia and New York City, I have lived in Germany and Europe for almost 20 years. I travel with work as an interpreter, consultant and agent, and never leave home without something on my needles to keep me occupied on my trip. I hope you enjoy my patterns as much as I have enjoyed writing them down to share with you.
