But cannot stop felting???
Here is an idea!
This pattern will provide you with the basic basket pattern! You get to decide what colors you want to use….
We all need to be more organized. No need to ordinary. Everyone needs more places to put their knitting stashes and magazines!
Knit with 100% new wool (worsted weight) that is hand knit and then washed in to a rich felted material!!
NOTE:The straps that are in the pictures for this listing are from an old boring basket from the neighborhood superstore. I have included detailed instructions for knitting straps for this basket.
People will not know that it is hand knit because I use 10.5 needles and fine wools.
The bag measures: approximately 7-8”h x 30” in circumference/11-12” diameter.
Gauge:
12 stitches and 18 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch
Materials:
- 1000 yrds worsted weight yarn that felts

I had been using a Winnie the POO (pun intended) diaper bag for 5 years strait and the thought of lugging it around for another 3 years WAS UNBEARABLE!!! At the same time, I noticed a woman with a cute over sized bag and asked about it. When I found out how it was made, I thought, I can do that. And I did! Then all of my neighbors wanted one.

It all started when I was pregnant with kid #3. At the same time, I noticed a woman with a cute over sized bag and asked about it. When I found out how it was made, I thought, I can do that. And I did! Then all of my neighbors wanted one.
I am completely a self taught knitter. When I was an EXTREMELY BORED kid, I fashioned some needles from the dowels I pulled off of a couple of wooden coat hangers. I used an encyclopedia to learn the knit and purl stitches .
I did not touch another pair of needles again until I was 34 and needed that diaper bag. Since then, I have sold hundreds of bags, over 2,000 patterns. Although I mostly self publish, my designs have been included in bestselling books, magazines and knitting calendars.
