This Diamonds and Cables pattern has been very popular since I posted one of my first hand knit pillow covers. When a customer asked for this design as a blanket, I modified my pattern and using a double thickness 100% wool, worsted weight yarn I hand knit this super warm 60"x72" blanket.
This pattern is really for the experienced knitter who is willing to put in a lot of hours of knitting!
Its knit back and forth on a circular needle to accomodate the large number of stitches.
You will need to know how to use a cable needle and be able to knit two different cables over different numbers of rows.... but it will be worth the hard work!
4"x4" (10cmx10cm) = 14 stitches and 20 rows on 8mm/US11/UK1 needle
5300 yards of Worsted weight

Ever since my Mum taught me to knit and sew I have loved the creative process and experimenting with design.
I find pillow covers to be the perfect way to combine my love of design and the textures that can be created with a single strand of yarn. I especially love experimenting with cable patterns.
