Pattern Description:

Create eye catching and intricate knit ornaments utilizing 18 contemporary and traditional Sanquhar knitting designs.

Sanquhar Knitting is a distinctive two-colored patterned knitting that takes its name from the small city of Sanquhar, located in the south of Scotland in Dumfries and Galloway. Traditionally knit up in black and white wool in intricate geometric patterns, modern influences include the use of a variety of colors and pattern modification.


Finished ornament is approximately 7.5 inches in circumference.

Gauge:

9 stitches = 1" on Size 1 (2.5mm) needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished ornament will have a 2.5 inch diameter

Materials:

  • Fingering weight wool in two colors (25 yds of each)

You Will Also Need:

  • 5 double pointed needles size 1 (2.5mm)
  • 4 stitch markers
  • Stuffing
  • Crochet Hook
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Hemostats (optional)
