With this knitting pattern, you can make your own Christmas pudding which is decorated with knitted holly leaves and berries. This makes a fun table decoration for the holidays, or even to hang on your Christmas tree.
The pattern includes row-by-row instructions, and photos to help you make your pudding and holly. You will need 4mm straight knitting needles, and less than 25g each of brown, white, green and red double knit (8 ply) wool. You will also need some toy filling to stuff the pudding, and a tapestry needle to sew the pieces together.
This pattern is knitted flat (not in the round). You will need to know how to knit, purl, cast on and off, and make increases and decreases (some basic instructions are included in the pattern). You will also need to know how to change colours in the middle of a row (intarsia knitting), and how to make short rows. I do have a helpful tutorial on my blog on how to make short rows if you are new to this, at:
http://fluffandfuzzknitting.wordpress.com/2012/06/28/short-rows-tutorial-how-to-wrap-and-turn-in-knitting/
The finished pudding is approximately 11cm high and 10cm wide.
