Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit and Purl

Pattern Description:

Alph Phi was a request for a customer.... She is incorporating other squares into a blanket... including Alpha Phi....She knits all the squares together for her blankets....

Blocking makes the letters stand out so well... My blocking technique is at the bottom of the pattern....

If you use acrylic, just double it up & blocking isn't necessary...Make sure you use RED HEART....


Not important as long as letters show well

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 9 3/4 x 8 inches with cotton


  • 1 ball worsted weight cotton for cloth
  • 1 ball worsted weight acrylic for blanket

You Will Also Need:

  • 4mm or US #6 knitting needles for cotton
  • 9 or 10 US knitting needles for acrylic

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Bernat for cotton... Red Heart for acrylic
