Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, increase/decrease

Pattern Description:

A snuggly blanket to knit for baby in three sizes (carriage/sm crib square/lg crib square) with lots of cushy texture to burrow into, yet light enough to be a go-to traveling accessory. Deep garter borders ensures the piece will lay flat and keep its shape through multiple washings, making this a practical, pretty gift to knit for an expecting family.
Substituting yarn and/or needles will result in an overall variation in size.


22 sts and 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on larger needles (unblocked)

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 30(39, 43) inches wide and 36(39, 43) inches in height (stretched lightly and blocked)


  • 850(1150, 1500) yds of any soft sport/light DK yarn with approximately 340 yards per 100 grams
  • Needles: size 6US (4.0 mm) 24-inch circular needle size 5US (3.75 mm) 24-inch circular needle (or one size smaller than body needle) for top and bottom borders
