A versatile V-neck cardigan with simple lines and a decorative rib buttonband. Comfortable like your favorite sweatshirt, only much more sophisticated. Perfect for day or night, work or play, this cardigan will be a timeless wardrobe staple. Plus, worked in worsted weight wool it will be ready to wear in no time!
This pattern is worked top down with a contiguous yoke. The buttonband begins with Judy's Magic Cast On and is worked in one piece. The body stitches are picked up from the buttonband. It continues in one piece, worked at the same time as the yoke and the rest of the body. Once the body and sleeves are complete, the only finishing is attaching the toggles, loops and hook and eyes.
Modeled in size 34.25 on a 34 inch bust, with 2 inches added to sleeve length and with cuffs turned back.
A link to a video tutorial of the buttonband stitch is included in the pattern and a spreadsheet of stitch counts for each section/size is included to help you keep track of the shaping.
Always wash and block your swatch to ensure a proper fit.
16 sts and 24 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette stitch on US 8/5mm needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.

I love soap and candle making, all sorts of paper crafts and a bit of jewelery making...but my true love is knitting. I learned to knit in 2007 and started designing in 2010. I am always sketching up all the little ideas that pop into my head...and translating them into knitted garments, accessories and patterns!
When I am not knitting, you can find me indulging in my other hobby - running. I coach beginner marathoners, work part-time in a specialty running store and just plain enjoy running. I suppose it helps to make up for all that time I am sitting completely still whilst knitting!
