Basic Skills Necessary:

  • circular knitting
  • cables
  • provisional cast on (tutorial link provided)

Pattern Description:

A good friend of mine has been very passionate about the sea/nautical theme lately. She has asked me to come up with some seamless designs that will incorporate and carry that theme throughout. The idea has been born, and here it is - Yacht Club Skirt, part one in my "Back to the Sea" collection of seamless, all seasonal garments. This collection is dedicated to Marina

The skirt is knit entirely in the round from top down. It begins with a provisional cast on, which is used to allow for a knitted on waistband. There are two distinct sections in the skirt construction: A-line top portion and the ruffled bottom part. The top portion is constructed in a way as to accommodate any size and shape. Both sections can be easily adjusted in length.

I am providing links to all the relevant tutorials and techniques, so if you are not familiar with any of them, here is your chance to try, and succeed.

Pattern comes in two versions (both are included):
Pages 1-11: DK yarns;
Pages 12-22: Worsted yarns.

Techniques required: provisional cast on and cabling.

  • 200-900 yds of DK or worsted yarn.

You Will Also Need:

  • circular needles
  • stitch marker

Suggested yarn:

200 yards of DK weight
