About the designer

I live on a smallholding by the sea in the south of New Zealand where I have my own sheep for wool and various other animals. I love designing and knitting - mostly Fair Isle - and playing music.

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You should be able to work in the round using two colours and to follow written directions. and charts

Pattern Description:

This is the pullover that every doting mother or grandmother needs to make. It is so warm and soft and the naturally dyed colours of the Renaissance Dyeing Troubadour complement the colouring of every child.
I've always loved the way Fair Isle knits are light weight and yet very warm because of the extra layer provided by the floating yarns. Children need more warmth than they get from mass produced synthetic clothing. A pullover like this will last and last and continue to look beautiful for many years - and for many little ones.
