Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic knit and purl stitches
  • decrease: p3tog
  • increase: yo
  • three needle bind off
  • seaming pieces together

Pattern Description:

Tundra is knit in pieces and sewn together. Hood stitches are picked up around the neck edge. The top of the hood is joined using the three needle bind off.

Gauge:

18 sts and 14 rows = 4" in star pattern with larger needles; 16 sts = 4" and 17 rows = 2" in basket stitch with smaller needles.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 30 (34, 371/2, 41, 441/2, 48, 52, 551/2)" bust circumference
  • 76 (86, 95, 104, 114, 122, 132, 141) cm bust circumference

Materials:

  • Quince & Co.'s Osprey: 7 (7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10, 11) hanks in color 152 Kumlien's Gull
  • or 1060 (1165, 1230, 1330, 1470, 1530, 1650, 1710) yards in comparable earth-friendly yarn
  • 32" circular needle size US 9 (5.5 mm)
  • 32" circular needle size US 11 (8 mm)
