Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, increases, decreases, picking up stitches, yarnovers

Pattern Description:

This lovely shell is elegant with its wide-set shoulders, shaped waistline, and simple edging. Because it's worked from the top down, you can customize the length to suit you. Wear it by itself, or with its coordinating Top-Down Cardigan, Pattern #170.

The yarn I used works up at a gauge of 6 sts per inch in Stockinette stitch; if you wish to use a different yarn, make sure you find one that will match this gauge.

Gauge:

24 sts and 33 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • XXS (29.5 ) - 7X (69.5)"

Materials:

  • 550-1700 yards DK weight yarn
  • size 5 (3.75 mm) and 4 (3.5 mm) needles, circular needles
  • crochet hook size F-5 (3.75 mm)
