Pattern Description:

Welcome a brand new baby girl with this original pattern for a lacy baby sweater and matching cap. The body of the sweater is comprised of lace "thistles", with complimentary "clovers" on the bodice and sleeve caps.

Pattern makes a size newborn to 12 lbs, using baby weight yarn on size 3 needles. A larger size can be obtained by using larger gauge yarn and needle: For size 6 months use dk weight yarn with size 5 - 6 needles. For 9-12 months use worsted weight yarn with size 7 - 8 needles.

Yarn: Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, 2 balls, for the smallest size.

Gauge (smallest size): In stockinette: 6 st/inch, 8 rows/inch
In thistle lace pattern: 5.5 st/inch, 8 rows/inch

This pattern is recommended for intermediate level knitters, and above.

If you don't enjoy sweater sew ups, you will appreciate that this pattern employs one-piece, nearly seamless construction. Minimal seaming required only at shoulders and about 1" at underarms. It's fast and painless to finish!
