(6) Name: 'Knitting : Tar

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • cast on, knit, purl, knit through back loop, increase, decrease, bind off

Pattern Description:

A spicy riff on the classic tee, Tar is a relaxed-yet-sexy
raglan that easily dresses up or down.

Perfect for layering or wearing on its own, it's knit
seamlessly in the round from the top down and
features a hint of waist shaping and 3/4 sleeves.

The stylish boat neck, waist, and cuffs are all edged
with ribbing.

Knit it in Shibui Heichi " a rustic silk tweed " for a luxurious, drapey fabric with a beautiful sheen.


8 sts x 14 rows = 2 x 2 [5 cm x 5 cm] in stockinette stitch on larger needles, blocked

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 32 (34, 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52) actual bust size. Pattern adds 2 of positive ease at bust.


  • US 7 [4.5 mm] circular needles,16 - 32 [40 - 80 cm]
  • US 7 [4.5 mm] double pointed needles
  • US 6 [4.0 mm] circular needles, 16 - 32 [40 - 80 cm]
  • US 6 [4.0 mm] double pointed needles
  • or size to obtain gauge

You Will Also Need:

  • 9 stitch markers
  • 2 stitch holders or pieces of waste yarn
