A classic, fairytale-inspired, hooded poncho, to delight little girls. Knit flat in one piece with bramble stitch borders, it features a stockinette stitch body, armholes and cuffs to keep out the chill, and an optional pocket on the front to warm little hands.
The simple lines and small details are designed to showcase handpainted yarns, making this an
enjoyable and gratifying garment to knit and be treasured for years to come.
Sweet Hilda is dedicated to my grandmother, who taught me to knit at the age of four, and who opened up the large world of fiber arts to me.
20 sts & 24 rows in Stockinette stitch = 4" (10cm) with US 7 (4.5mm) needles OR size needed to obtain gauge
24 sts & 24 rows in bramble stitch = 4" (10cm) with US 7 (4.5mm) needles OR size needed to obtain gauge
Note: It is more important to meet gauge requirements in stockinette than bramble stitch. Once
blocked, the bramble stitches can be quite accommodating.
