This pattern was created in response to a request for a jacket & hat to match the pattern for the traditional Christening Gown. The pattern on the jacket and hat is the same as in the panel of the gown.
The panels are done in an open lacework design. The jacket will come about halfway down the gown and should blend with the panels on the gown. The embellishment on the hat is optional and is done with a French Knitter. The ties on the hat and the neckline are also done with the French Knitter. These can also be done with ribbon.
I have been knitting for the past 50 or so years. When I retired I started to design my own patterns. I believe that a knitted item can be modern, comfortable and stylish.
This is my goal. I'm thoroughly enjoying this time in my life. As a knitter I enjoy the comradery of the forum on Knitting Paradise.
I am a designer/teacher member of the Knitting Guild Association.
