on the chart, what does s2, k1, PS2SS0 mean? thanks!

is it supposed to mean: slip 2, knit 1, pass the 2 slipped stitches over the knit stitch? and therefore should have bee written to read: s2, k1, psso?

My knitting gauge was correct, but I could not get it blocked to 18". I came up about 1.5" short in blocked length.

Thank you. The gauge is knitting correctly before blocking and that is as it should be. It would be very difficult to test for the gauge as blocked. Also, blocking it to add a third more of its length seems risky. I will add one set of repeats to both the front and back using an additional skein. I think this will be a lovely vest but it would probably be a good idea for you to explain up front that the pattern as written will yield a vest of 12.5" that then needs to be blocked to 18". The yarn is so beautiful that I want the vest to really show it off.

I am revising this pattern and uploading this correction:
Size
18 long x 64 around/46cm x 163cmone size fits most (worn loosely--knitted fabric is clingy)AFTER BLOCKING
12-1/2 long x 50 around/32cm x 127cm BEFORE BLOCKING
Gauge
3 stitches and 3-1/2 rows = 1/2.5cm before blocking

Thanks for a good suggestion!

I count a total of 44 (+1 knit row) rows for the back (Rows 1-16 twice and Rows 1-12 once) and 44 (+1 knit row) rows for the two front panels. The gauge says that 3.5 rows equal an inch. That works out to a length from the shoulder of 12.5" but the pattern says the finished vest will be 18" long. For 18" I would have to knit 63 rows. As of now I have knit 28 rows and it measures about 8" to the lowest point of the bottom edge (3.5 rows per inch) so the gauge is correct. The vest will be 12.5" if I follow the pattern as written -- much shorter than the stated 18" and the pictured vest. Either the pattern is incorrect as to number of rows or it is incorrect as to expected length. Should I add another set of 1-16 rows front and back? If so, will 2 skeins be enough?

There will not be enough yarn for the extra repeat unless you order a 3rd skein. The way it came out to 18" was after blocking, and that needs to be added to the pattern. Thanks for asking. THe pattern as written should use all of the 2 skeins if you are knitting it at the right gauge.

also, is it true what was stated by sherylnia below on May 3rd, that rows 2 and 4 are wrong on instructions - should be p18 and not k18? seems after the "slm" that it is turned around for "knit" and not "purl" ??

ok, sorry, should have done this b4 I questioned. I counted it out and the "sl" and "kn" you state in the instructions are included in the "psso" which equals 25 as you stated below

ok, think I got this, one last question before I restart and make another mistake (an lose more of this beautiful yarn), with the PSSO, you instruct "sl" then "k1" before the "psso" - the sl and k1 are not included with the "psso"? So I would "sl" then "k1" then do a "psso" which would be another "sl" then "k1" as I do the "psso". Sorry - wish I could see this done

I just love this pattern but I am just not getting it. I've gotten as far as casting on the 74 stitches. I see I'm having same issues as some other asked below about not using up all the 74 stitches in the pattern. I don't know what "psso" is. I've done mostly crocheting and little projects knitting with Lion Brand Yarn Co. I tried to figure with them what this "psso" means. Did not know this help was available. I'm hoping I have enough yarn left as I was unable to save a lot trying to do this first part. Anyway, I will try again. Could you please explain what the "psso" is. THANK YOU!!

It is "Pass slipped stitch over" and here are more detailed explanations: https://www.google.com/search?q=knitting+help+psso&oq=knitting+help+psso&aqs=chrome..69i57j0j69i64l2.3904j1j4&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=91&ie=UTF-8

In your pattern, you say continue on row 1-16, however you only give instructions up to row 12 on my instructions. Am I missing some instructions? Please advise......LGeisler2@comcast.net

Please contact Craftsy support, you do not have the correct pattern, which says: Rows 13-16: Repeat rows 9-12.

Hello,
After starting this pattern, frogging it back and trying again, I realized that there are errors in the written instructions that the chart makes clear. The k18 on rows 2 and 4 etc are supposed to be p18. I hope this is correct. Please let me know, I'm trying to complete this in a few days. thank you, Sheryl
