Pattern Description:

A simple lace pattern knit in a rectangle with 3/4 length sleeves creates this cardigan with the drapey front.

I am drawn to this color in my jewelry because it is my favorite sea glass color. I decided to design something in this color that would give me the same sense of serenity. A shawl cardigan with its graceful front folds and the generous rectangular shape that you can wrap yourself in like an afghan was the perfect choice.

The stitch pattern is a two row repeat, so no chart to follow. There is no shaping and no finishing except for weaving in loose ends. You have a choice of how to connect the sleeves. You can bind off stitches and cast stitches back on in the middle of the row which is a little tricky if you have not done that before. You cannot use the long tail cast on for this armhole so I have explained a preferred cast on in the stitch glossary. You also have to pick up stitches for the sleeves and I explain how to do this in the stitch glossary as well. Or you can use waste yarn and work with live stitches for the armhole. The explanation is in the text of the pattern.
