A roomy little jacket toddler boys or girls - ideal for popping on over a t-shirt or fine-fabric sweater when an extra layer is needed. This pattern is easily adaptable, you can shorten or lengthen the body, sleeves and collar, and vary the number and size of buttons.

Back of neck to hem: 12 (121/2, 13)" - adjustable
Sleeve length: 7 (8, 9)" - adjustable
You will need:
Approx. 250g/9 oz. any worsted yarn - a little more if you are increasing length
Straight knitting needles, sizes 4mm (8 U.K., 6 U.S.) and 3.5mm (10 U.K., 3 U.S.)
Yarn needle for weaving in ends
3 buttons or toggles
Gauge: 17 sts + 24 rows = 4" in stocking stitch using the larger needle. Please check your gauge as you may need to use larger or smaller needles depending on your tension.

I have been knitting for decades - aran sweater, designer garments, baby and toddler clothes.
