I named the cardigan after the river that meanders past my mother?s hometown in Scotland, on the banks of which my grandfather, many, many years ago, operated a woolen mill.
This top-down, raglan-style cardigan is worked in an allover rib stitch in one piece. At four points around the waist (two at the front, two at the back) the ribs curve into a cable motif, providing gentle, flattering shaping. A rectangular shawl collar is worked separately in an all-over version of the same motif and sewn on.
