Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Provisional Cast On, picking up stitches, knitting in the round, multiple instructions

Pattern Description:

This tunic length vest is worked from the top down in a unique way, to be totally seamless. The vest is shaped at the waist with cables that naturally draw the waist in without shaping.


18 sts and 24 rows = 4"/10 cm in Stockinette stitch in larger needles after blocking. To save time, be sure to check your gauge.


  • DK weight yarn, approx 750 (865, 990, 1110, 1250) yds
  • Needles: US size 7/4.5 mm 24"/61 cm circular needl or size needed to obtain gauge
  • US size 5/3.75 mm 16" circular needle or set of 4-5 double pointed needles
  • Size G/6/4mm crochet hook
  • stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn. cable needle, tapestry needle, 3 or 4 one half inch diameter buttons

Preferred Brand/Yarn:

Knit Picks Gloss DK 70% Merino wool/30% Silk 123 yds/112.5 m per 1.75 oz/50 gm skein
