Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit and purl
  • read a stitch chart
  • use double pointed needles to knit in a circle
  • joining

Pattern Description:

This shrug is another one of my favorite accessories for cooler temperatures in the spring or fall. It is a striped blend of bright blues and greens with a subtle zig zag pattern.

The piece is worked as a large rectangle on circular needles to accommodate the width, although you will work back and forth, as if using straight needles.


19 sts or 24 rows = 4 inches

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • one size fits most
  • approximately 33 inches wide a 37 1/2 inches from neck to bottom


  • size 8 circular needles (29 inches long)
  • 4-5 size 8 dpn
  • plastic yarn needle
