Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting flat and in the round
  • increasing and decreasing
  • yarn overs

Pattern Description:

"Martie" has a deep, square neckline, a fitted body, 3/4 length sleeves and an open mock panel detail on the front, back and sleeves. It is perfect for fall and winter and layers perfectly over a cami or a shirt. Shepherd's Wool is so soft you will love it.

I designed Martie to be worn with negative ease. I wear the size 32" and I have a 36.5" bust and 35" hip. Keep this in mind when you select a size to knit. If you prefer a more relaxed fit select a size where the finished bust/hip measurement is closer to or exceeds yours. You can also omit the waist shaping.

You will need 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) hanks of Shepherd's Wool for this project. The size 32" will use every bit of the 3 hanks so if you want to lengthen the sleeves or body you will need another hank. FYI, one hank is 250 yards.

20 sts and 29 rows in stocking stitch
