Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, basic increases and decreases, yarn overs, picking up sts

Pattern Description:

Louise is a lovely asymmetrical vest with 3 different lace patterns that are interesting to work but not difficult. This vest works equally well in a cozy winter yarn or a cool summer blend.
You can add as many buttons as you like - 1 to 7 or more.
If you aren't an asymmetrical type of person, just make all the patterns end at the same level. You are the knitter - you are the boss!

Gauge:

4.8 sts = 1" in Broken Rib
5 sts = 1" in Stockinette

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • FINISHED BUST MEASUREMENTS: 37 (39, 41, 43, 45, 47, 49, 51, 53, 55)"
  • FINISHED LENGTH: 24 (24, 24.5, 24.5, 25, 25, 25.5, 25.5, 26, 26)"

Materials:

  • 710 (720, 785, 835, 880, 915, 975, 1025, 1070, 1110) yds of light worsted weight yarn (5 sts/1")
  • #7 needles or size needed to get gauge in Broken Rib
  • #7 24-36" circular needle for front band
  • 1 - 5/8 to 3/4" button
