Pattern Description:

Jasper can be knit as a cardigan or a pullover, and is just right for the picky man in your life (or for you! it's basic, but not too basic). It's also a hyper-fast knit, and can be finished with either a zipper or buttons, your call.

Includes detailed directions and resource links for inserting zipper.


4 sts and 6 rows = 1" / 2.5 cm in body pattern or

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished chest sizes: 28-32 (34-38, 40-44, 46-50)"


  • Cascade Ecological Wool color #8095 (100% undyed natural wool, 478 yds/437 m per skein): approx. 2 (2, 3, 3) skeins for chest 28-32 (34-38, 40-44, 46-50)".
  • 6mm (US #10) circular needles in 16" and 24" lengths
  • 6mm (US #10) DPNs or 2 sets of circulars in any short length for sleeves

You Will Also Need:

  • 24" (or longer, for larger sizes) separating zipper
  • Waste yarn, preferably smooth cotton in a bright color
  • Coordinating sewing thread and needle (to sew on zipper, or buttons)
  • Contrasting sewing thread (to baste zipper in place)
  • Straight pins
  • 4 stitch markers
