Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit in the round, basic sock construction, yo, k2tog, ssk

Pattern Description:

These are the second socks in the Grounded Sock Series, also published as an eBook: Novel Socks. These socks are designed by Meg Warren as part of the series. Proceeds from this sale go to her.

The first sock in the series is Rosie's Firestarters designed by Heather Ordover.

Izzy, one of the characters in Grounded: The Seven, book 1, is a bouncing blue ball of light and Happy Fuzzy Yarn's Corrie Sock in Cobalt does her up right. A fun lace repeat makes for a squooshy, comfy sockand one that's fun to knit.

Sizes S&L: 36 sts and 50 rnds = 4 in 10cm in stockinette
Size M: 32 sts and 45 rnds = 4 in 10 cm in stockinette

Women's S, M (L); To fit foot circumference 7.5, 8 (8.5) in 19, 20.5 (21.5) cm

Happy Fuzzy Yarn Corrie Sock
(75% Superwash Corriedale wool/25% nylon; 435 yards 395m/ 4 oz 114g) 1 skein; shown in Cobalt colorway - or substitute any true fingering weight yarn

Instructions are provided for Size S/M with Size L shown in ( ). Sizes S&M differ in gauge rather than stitch count. For a medium size foot (shoe size 7 1⁄2 to 9) follow the instructions for Size S, but aim for a gauge of approximately 8 sts/inch for a proper fit.


36 stitches and 50 rows = 4 inches in stockinette (gauge adjustment instructions for sizing options are included with pattern)
