(6) Name: 'Knitting : Iona

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit, purl, cables, cast on, bind off, knitting in the round.

Pattern Description:

Knitted top-down then in the round, Iona gets its shaping from the sections in between the front and back cables. Fits snugly in the upper body and through the high waist then increases into a dramatically full skirt. Can be worn on its own or over a lightweight top - also looks great under the CROMARTY jacket and with matching FYNE legwarmers.


22 stitches x 31 rows = 4"/10cm worked in Stockinette Stitch, in the round using US 4/3.5mm knitting needles
Or size needed to obtain gauge.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished Chest Circumference: 28 (30, 31 1/2, 34, 37, 38, 40, 42)" / 71 (76, 80, 86, 94, 96.5, 101.5, 168.5)cm. Note: Please allow 4"-5"/10cm-13cm negative ease.


  • Yarn Blue Sky Alpacas Melange (100% Baby Alpaca), 50g/1.76oz, 110yds/100m. 14 (15, 15, 15, 16, 16, 16, 17) skeins of # 809 Toasted Almond

  • Needles 1 US 4/3.5mm 24"/61cm or longer circular needle.
