Pattern Description:

An adorable jacket for baby in six sizes (3, 6, 12, 18 mos, 2T, 4T), knit in one piece from hem to neck in cushy garter stitch and openwork stitch patterns. Features a-line shaping through the body, raglan yoke, and a snuggly collar to finish. Matching hat in five sizes included.

Gauge:

24 sts and 46 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch on larger needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Sweater: 18.75(20, 21.5, 23, 25.25, 27.25) inches/47.5(51, 54.5, 58.5, 64, 69.5) cm around chest at underarm, buttoned, to fit with 2-4 inches of ease
  • Hat: 11(12.75, 14.75, 16.5, 18.25) inches/28(32.5, 37.5, 42, 46.5) cm around bottom band

Materials:

  • Sweater: 325(400, 450, 550, 650, 800) yards/300(375, 425, 500, 600, 725) m of sport/light DK yarn
  • Hat: 75(100, 150, 200, 250) yards/75(100, 125, 175, 225) m of sport/light DK yarn
  • Sweater: size 4US (3.5 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge and size 3US (3.25 mm) for hem edgings and collar (or one size smaller than body needle)
  • Hat: 16-inch circular needles or DPNs size 4US (3.5 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge and size 3US (3.25 mm) for bottom band (or one size smaller than body needle)

You Will Also Need:

  • 5(6, 6, 7, 7, 8) .375 inch/1cm in diameter

1050 yards of Sport weight
