Hi Berniolie,I am having a difficult time reading this pattern. I don't know if it's the grammar or if it is part of the pattern. I'm terribly confused. You say the following: "Start; Cast on 66 stitches and knit in stockingstitch 182 rows of which every first stitch of your row isa slipstitch. You will have 91 slipstitches on the long side of your rectangular." What does this mean? I don't get it. "Sleeve; Fold your rectangular in the lenght and close the short side to a ring." I don't understand this. Can you please give more information? Thank you, and I look foward to making this beautiful Shrug.Chastity
Hello Chastity,Cast on 66 stitchesRow 1; slipstitch 1 knitwise, knit 65, turn workRow 2; slipstitch 1 purlwise, purl 65, turn workRepeat row 1 - 2 another 90 times ( total of 182 rows)This is a rectangular shape and the base of your shrug. Knitted from sleeve end to sleeve end. By sewing the long sides (but leaving an opening in the middle) you'll have a tube. At each end of the tube you crochet the lace border. Also along the opening in the middle and this is the collar.I hope this will make more sence for you and I apologize for my English. It's not my first language.Bernadette
Sorry, I don't know. The yarn was a cone without a label.
beautiful colour of yarn, what is the brand of yarn you used for this?
I love that lace work, so pretty. Good job!
Thank you very much!
how much crocheting is involved?
All the trimming along the sleeves and the body. So a pretty large part of the shrug.
You'll need;Yarn; 5 skeins of 4ply fingeringweight, [ 1.76 oz - 202 yards ] [ 50gr - 185 mtr ].Crochethook; 2,5mm, Knittingneedles; 9 US / 5.5 mm

Hi, how much yarn is needed for this item, need to know how much it will cost me to make it.Thanks
This is a beautiful sweater. Nicely done!
re: the Ice sweater......why are there holes around the begining row of crochet on the lace band on the sleeve. Is it possible to eliminate those? I simply adore this item all but that one thing. Bonnie 10-6-2012

Thank you so much!
I have purchased this pattern and am currently making it. So far I have had many compliments on it.
I should also add that the designer is very helpful. I had questions regarding the pattern (I'm a beginner) and she promptly answered my questions.
ollie could you tell me if you used fingering yarn, seems way too thin for 16st for 4 inches
Yes I used fingering weight yarn. I wouldn't use anything heavier.
How large is large? Can you be more specific with the finished size? Or is it easy to adjust for extra girth as needed?
for me the sleeves are 3/4 length.
How much crochet is involved and is it difficult crochet? Thanks
Can you please confirm that this is truly knitted with fingering weight, it usually is 7-8 sts to the inch.
yes, I used fingering weight.
Also would you please recommend a yarn appropriate for this beautiful pattern. I just love it
