Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, shaping, seaming, button bands, increasing/decreasing

Pattern Description:

A button-down cardigan sweater or vest in six sizes S(M, L, 1X, 2X, 3X), featuring a Tartan knit/purl fabric, cable details, set-in sleeves (vest has ribbed armhole trim), and a standing ribbed collar. Body is knit in one piece to the underarm; sleeves are knit flat. Works up beautifully in solids, tweeds, or tonal variegated yarns.

Gauge:

20 sts and 28 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette (unblocked) on larger needle

Materials:

  • 1220 - 2200 yards (1116 - 2012 m) of DK weight yarn
  • 8(8, 8, 8, 9, 9) .75-inch (2 cm) buttons
  • US 4 - 3.5 mm and US 3 - 3.25 mm

You Will Also Need:

  • tapestry needle
  • tape measure
  • stitch markers
