Sara, would you have the amount of yarn this usually takes? Either in yardage or maybe even how many skeins it takes. Thanks!!!

Hi Sara,
I've just started this adorable pattern, but I'm already a bit confused with the pattern instructions for Row 6 of the yoke. It's this part that has me confused: *K to 1 st before next marker, Kfb, sm, Kfb*, repeat 2 times, Kfb, sm, Kfb
When I knit the pattern the first time, and then repeat two more times, I seem to be left with another repeat, but the instuctions then say to Kfb, sm, Kfb, which doesn't match what I have on my needle.
I hope what I'm trying to explain makes sense. I'm grateful for any help, from yourself or others who have made this sweater!

Thanks you!

Hi Sara,
I have just started to knit Henry's sweater and in row 4 of Begin with yoke I have a problem.
Row 3 was pearl all stitches and no mention of markers.
In row r you have an instruction to sm and then Kfb K t 1 stitch before the next marker and repeat but there are no markers. What am I doing wrong?

The markers are placed in Row 1 - P1, pm [place marker], P12 (14), pm, P20 (22), pm, P12 (14), pm, P1. Then you just carry them through to each subsequent row until you get to the Slip Off Sleeves section.

When I saw this pattern I knew it was the perfect one to knit for the upcoming arrival of my new great-nephew. I'm not a new knitter, but am new to knitting buttonholes and I'm unsure how to count the stitches leading up to the buttonhole. Where the pattern says "K6, cast off 1 st" (for 6-12 months), does that mean to K6 and then pass the 5th knit stitch over the 6th one for the cast off OR do I pass the 7th knit stitch over the 8th one?

I love making baby items, and need to try to make ahead for my friends who are becoming grandmas. How many yards does the 6-12 months size seem to need? I was thinking maybe 2 skeins of the Cascade 220 wool?

I am fairly new to knitting. I love Henry's sweater! How can I adapt this to fit a size 4 boy? Thank you.

Oh gosh, not sure that you can... The sweater does run a little larger than the sizes noted in the pattern, but not that much larger unfortunately. You could try using bulky yarn with larger needles - that might get you close!

Thanks for the comment.

Bigger needles! Now that's a thought, and thanks for the quick response.
