Pattern Description:

...designed for the apple of my eyes :o) ..... inspired by the tiny dresses I once wore myself....

Green Apple is a dream design for every little girl, keeping her warm on chilly days while leaving her arms free to move.

With the grow-up-with-me fit in mind, there are buttons at both shoulders allowing adjustments for any growth-spurts, this means it may be worn for many years to come. Firstly as a dress, and as a tunic later on.

The top features embroidery and a deep sewn-on patch pocket, detailed photo tutorials are included in the pattern for both Embroidery and Sewn-on patch pocket.

The dress is worked top down, and knits up very fast and effortlessly.

There are 2 suggested lengths included in the pattern, dress and tunic, however the length is easily customizable.

There are 3 bodice options to choose from:
-Front button closure at the shoulders only
-Front button closure at the shoulders and at the back bodice
-Front button closure at the shoulders and the whole back length

Yardage (dress / tunic):
3-6m: 320 / 290 yds
12-18m: 350 / 320 yds
24m-2T: 420 / 350 yds
3-4T: 550 / 420 yds
5-6: 660 / 550 yds
7-8: 750 / 600
9-10: - / 650
11-12: - / 720
13-14: - / 830

3-6m - Option 3 with buttons down the full back length may be worked using straight needles if desired. The other two options will need circular and/or DPNs.

Gauge:

Bodice gauge:
19 sts / 40 - 42 rws = 4" in garter st at rest, over blocked sample, using 3.75mm / US #5

The correct STITCH gauge in garter stitch is critical! The correct ROW gauge in garter st is equally important. Because of the nature of the garter st and weight of the skirt pulling it down, the bodice is going to stretch lengthwise while wearing; therefore you want your garter stitch form rather a dense fabric.

Make sure to swatch and wet block before starting your work, to ensure proper gauge.
*Note: one size smaller size needles are recommended for blends with cotton, rayon or silk.

Skirt gauge:
16 - 17 sts / 25 - 26 rws = 4" in stockinette st using 4.5mm / US #7
The skirt gauge is not critical.
