Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Cable cast on, sewn bind off, short rows (all explained).

Pattern Description:

Eve's Ribs is a shawl-collared shrug with a reversible wandering rib stitch worked over back and sleeves, and an open lace version of the same stitch worked over collar, fronts, and sleeve cuffs.

Instructions contain 4 sleeve options: long narrow sleeves, long sleeves with a flared cuff, mid-length sleeves with a bell, and cap sleeves.

Construction: Worked in one piece from the top down, with seams at sides and under arms. Long-sleeved versions use short rows to taper sleeves.

Gauge:

16 sts and 25 rows = 4" in pattern stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • To fit chest sizes: 28-32 (33-38, 39-45, 46-52)" with cross-back measurements of 171⁄2 (211⁄2, 251⁄2, 291⁄2)". Shrug shown is size 33-38" shown on a 36" dress form.

Materials:

  • Size 8 US / 5.0 mm and size 10 US / 6.0 mm knitting needles
