Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting, purling, picking up stitches, yarnovers, increases, decreaeses

Pattern Description:

I love working with textured stitches, and I think that the Openwork Rib used here in the sleeves works very well with the simple Eyelet Pattern I used for the body. The tie below the bust will accentuate your figure, and the shaping at the sides will allow the pullover to skim your hips nicely. Wear this piece onits own, or pair it with its matching cardigan, Pattern #165, Empire Waist Cardigan.

The yarn I used works up at a gauge of 5.25-6 sts per inch in Stockinette stitch; if you wish to use a different yarn, make sure you find one that will match this gauge.

Gauge:

22 sts and 28 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Eyelet Pattern, using smaller needles

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • XXS (25") to 6X (68.5")

Materials:

  • 500-1600 yards light worsted/DK weight yarn
  • size 6 (4 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm) needles

You Will Also Need:

  • stitch markers; beads (optional)

About the designer

At 6' tall, I used to have a hard time finding sweaters with long enough sleeves. So I took up knitting to make my own sweaters.
