I took a class in double knitting and wrote some patterns for hats. I thought it would be fun to make a sweater jacket in the double knit style. This sweater jacket is knit in the double knit style and is completely reversible.
The women's sweater is knit in brown with the reverse side in tan. The men's sweater is knit in black with the reverse side in gray. They both have a zipper that is reversible to help with ease of zipping when worn on the reverse side. We live in Minnesota and the added warmth is very well needed.
In the double knit stitch, 16 pairs/32 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches/10cm on the size 6 needle.
256 yards of Worsted weight
I have been knitting since my early teens. I learned in a Junior High craft class. I especially enjoy knitting sweaters for family and friends. I have 2 grandchildren that are really fun to knit for.
