Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl,
  • circular knitting
  • pick up sts for neckline

Pattern Description:

Deva (a playful water sprite) is part of my "Touch of Magic" series, a collection of quirky modern sweaters and vests.

Deva vest is completely seamless and is worked from the top down. I have used an amazing technique developed by Susie Myers, "contiguous set-in sleeves", that allows shoulder shaping without the use of a single short row.

The design features Fountain lace panels and a knitted on belt, though the vest can be made without it as well.

22 sts x 28 rows = 10 cm/4 inches on 4 mm/US 6 needles or size required to meet gauge

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 10 sizes: 18m-14 years; 20-30" chest

  • See data photo for detail of sizes and yarn requirements

You Will Also Need:

  • 3.5 mm/US #4 circular needles (40 cm/14" and 60 cm/24");
  • 4 mm/US #6 circular needles (60 cm/24");
