Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit, purl, basic increases and decreases, knitting in the round and straight on circular needles

Pattern Description:

Debbie is a top down pullover inspired by Aran sweaters, but with only a couple of patterns to keep track of as you knit. A short sleeve summer version is also available. A cable panel placed in the center of the back and the front helps create a more fitted silhouette. As always with top down sweaters, you can try it on as you go and there is little finishing to do.

Gauge:

4.5 sts = 1" in stockinette

Materials:

  • Long sleeve pullover - 950 (1025, 1125, 1200, 1325, 1375, 1475, 1525) worsted weight yarn
  • Cap sleeve top - 650 (680, 750, 800, 880, 910, 980, 1025) yds of Worsted weight yarn
  • For the body - #8 circular needles at least 24" long or size needed to get gauge
  • For the sleeves - #8 circular needles 16" long or size needed to get gauge
  • 1 5/8 - 3/4" button
  • 8 - 12 ring markers
  • Scrap yarn to hold sleeve sts
  • Optional - 36 - 42" long circular needle #8 or size used for knitting the body
