Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting

Pattern Description:

This sweater is great for boys or girls, and ideal for using up yarn when you don't have enough to make a full sweater! I chose traditional cream for the body, and a denim blue for the sleeves. You can make it solid, or mix-and-match colours as you please. The saddle shoulders are roomy and comfortable for active toddlers. The neckband is also roomy, making this easy to put on and remove at playtime. Ideal for slipping on over a t-shirt or thin sweater when the weather turns cool. Conor is an Irish name, and means "dog lover."

16 sts + 24 rows = 4" in stocking stitch with larger needles.

  • 2 skeins of Red Heart Super Saver medium worsted, each skein 7 oz/198 g, 364 yds Note: sweater shown is the smallest size, used approx 6 oz cream and 3 oz blue
  • Straight knitting needles: 4.5mm (U.K. 7, U.S. 7) and 3.75mm (U.K. 9, U.S. 5)

You Will Also Need:

  • cable needle
  • yarn needle for sewing up

Christina D. on

I have been knitting for decades - aran sweater, designer garments, baby and toddler clothes. My recent foray into pattern designing has been so rewarding, and such fun - I am now often seeking inspiration all around me! I also have a one-year-old grand-daughter for whom I love making unique garments.
