Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Knit, purl, cast on, bind off, elongated stitches, cables.
  • Increasing, decreasing, yarn, overs.

Pattern Description:

Designed to be worn as a layering piece, Colorado River is a seamless, open front vest, worked top down, from the racer back. The cables, bordered with pretty eyelets, create an eye-catching design at the centre back which divide at the waist to frame a lower back godet of crossed over stitches. The cables and eyelets continue from the back, over the shoulders to follow the gently curved fronts.

Gauge:

22 stitches x 30 rows = 4"/10cm worked in Stockinette Stitch
and US 7/4.5mm knitting needles
Or size needed to obtain gauge.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished Chest Circumference: 34 (36 1/2, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48)"/86 (93, 96.5, 101.5, 106.5, 111.5, 117, 122)cm Note: Loose fit - Please allow 2 - 3"/ 5 - 7.5cm of positive ease.

Materials:

  • Malabrigo Silky Merino (50% Merino, 50% Silk), 1.76oz/50g, 150yd/137m - 5 (5, 6, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7) Skeins of #412 Teal Feather. Or yarn that knits to specified gauge.
