Bands of horizontal cables create an eyecatching neckline and give a fresh twist to the classic yoked children's sweater. Knit largely in the round, this is a quick piece that requires minimal finishing. Instructions are given for placing the buttons on either the left or the right side of the yoke, making the pullover suitable for either a boy or a girl.

I've been into DIY since I was little, but these days my main craft is knitting. My mother taught me the basics when I was eleven, and after several years of neglect I picked it up again at university. When I can squeeze it around my day job, I love to come up with knitting patterns, you can check out what I've got in development over on my blog, www.studiomarlowe.com
