Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knit in the round
  • yarn over
  • use stitch markers

Pattern Description:

Inspired by tropical storms, shipwrecks and castaways this sleeveless tank top is designed to be worn layered with 10cm positive ease.

Due to the nature of the stainless steel blend yarn used the finished garment can be scrunched, stretched and manipulated into various shapes.

With yarn held double throughout, Castaway is knit in the round from the bottom up until the armholes. The back and front are then separated and knit flat. Shoulders are seamed.


15sts and 24 rounds in stocking stitch with yarn held double

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished length: 49.5 (52, 55.5) cm
  • Finished bust: 91 (101, 111) cm


  • 2(3,3) cones of Dairing item D-82 Silk Stainless 69% silk, 31% stainless steel, 289m (316yds)/14gm (0.5oz) cone

You Will Also Need:

  • 5mm (US#8) circular needle, 60cm long
  • stitch holder or waste yarn
  • 18 stitch markers (include 2 individual markers to distinguish side seams)
