I have dabbled in many areas in my life and I consider myself a naturally creative and artistic soul. I initially studied architecture straight out of secondary school but soon realized it was not my dream. But today I still appreciate the simple beauty of glass, metal and stone that are our dwellings and I think architecture will always hold a special place in my heart.
Apart from my obvious love of architecture, I have studied and loved photography, criminology as well as education. My love for learning has always enabled me to realize my dreams and conquer anything I set my mind to. My knitting life began very early on when I was only a small girl. My mother taught me knit as I shall one day teach both my children to knit. After a leave of absence during my secondary and tertiary education, I took up knitting once again soon after I had my first child, 11 years ago, and haven't looked back since. The first piece I ever knitted as an adult was, in fact, one that I "designed" purely on my past experience. Not very good, a simple, oversized v-neck in stocking stitch was all I could manage. But it was one of the best things I think I ever did! It put me back on the road to knitting. Sine then, I have knitted many patterns that I bought and fought my way through, learning a new technique from each one, each a stepping stone to what would eventually lead to where I am today.
Bobbin Hobnobbin began in its infancy due to the overwhelming lack of patterns for children. Specifically, at the time, I was looking for a fine-gauge zippered jacket that my daughter could use for her figure skating at the ice rink and Helsinki was born.
In between my very busy life as a mother to a computer-freak 12-year-old and a serious little 10-year-old figure skater, I spend much of my time blissfully knitting in the rink or whilst tutoring homework. And while I may get some strange looks at times, I believe knitting is making a serious comeback from the past. Never be ashamed of what you do, the beautiful things you create and never stop knitting...

An elegant design that knits up quickly on this chunky yarn. Picot cast-on, eyelets for ribbon placement, short-rows for the capped sleeves and crochet neck and sleeve finish mean that this project will push your creative limits.
