Basic Skills Necessary:

  • This is an easy knitting pattern, and the techniques used are knit, purl, k2tog, and YO.

Pattern Description:

This hug of a cape is the perfect addition to a stroll on the beach. It's airy enough to be worn over a bikini during the day and will block your shoulders from the chilly nighttime breeze off the waves.


9 sts + 14 rows = 4" in stockinette

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Width: 34"/86.4cm
  • Length at tallest point: 50"/127cm
  • *one size fits most*


  • 6 skeins Lion Brand Cotton-Ease, or approx. 1240yds/ 1125m of another worsted weight yarn (cat. 4)
  • Size US 15/10mm circular needles, 29"/75cm long
  • Stitch marker or scrap yarn
  • Large eye blunt needle
