About the designer

At 6' tall, I used to have a hard time finding sweaters with long enough sleeves. So I took up knitting to make my own sweaters.

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • knitting, purling, yarnovers, picking up stitches, increasing, decreasing

Pattern Description:

This lovely top is so easy to knit. The design is simple enough that it will look as good with shorts and jeans as it will with a dressy skirt; or wear it to work, layered under a jacket. It has shaping that hugs your waist nicely, but it's roomy enough that it won't cling to your hips. If you prefer a slightly looser fit, you might want to consider working the next larger size.

The yarn I used works up at a gauge of 5.75 sts per inch in Stockinette stitch; if you wish to use a different yarn, make sure you find one that will match this gauge.

23 sts and 32 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • XXS (26") to 6X (67")

  • 500-1275 yards worsted weight yarn
  • size 4 (3.5 mm) needles
